Occupational Health & Safety Management
Aegean Motorway SA considers it a founding principle to ensure Occcupational Health & Safety for its personnel.
Within the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Management, structures and processes were developed and established to identify and assess potential risks that may arise for the Staff at Work due to the specific nature of their tasks.
Occupational Risk Assessment Studies have been elaborated for all facilities of Aegean Motorway S.A., based on which Occupational Health and Safety Risks are identified and assessed. Based on the results, Improvement Programs are developed aiming at reducing and, where possible, at eliminating Risks.
The Company has established and operates an Occupational Medical Office, staffed with permanent support personnel and the Occupational Physician.
Separate Preventive Medical Examination Programs have been elaborated for each job; these programs are executed and their results are the basis for issuance of the Fit for Purpose Certificates.
A Group Medical Insurance Scheme is provided to all Staff, offering further Healthcare free of charge.
Finally, continuous training sessions are provided to all Work levels, with special priority given to jobs that are more exposed to risks as well as to jobs held at shifts.
To ensure normal working conditions in cases of emergency situations, the following tests have been carried out up this date:
- Test of Ventilation Systems of Katerini Tunnel on 7.07.2008
- Large-Scale Readiness Exercise with the participation of all involved Emergency Services, such as Fire Brigade, Traffic Police and National Centre of First Aid, held on 15.12.2008
The Occupational Health and Safety Management System has been developed as per the requirements of Standard OHSAS 18001:2007 and Certified by the Accredited Certification Body Lloyds Register QA.
